Commentary
This piece for Texas Monthly was commissioned to accompany a little story about a chocolate lab named Cisco who, do to bad habits, is neutered by the owners. Cisco proves he’s not lost his manhood at the end of the story though when he catches a snow goose. I was initially going to use acorns in the bird’s mouth but after talking with the art director we decided to go which the green pecan which apparently are the predominant nut in the Texan land.
